Corresponding author: ZHANG Bao-yan, professor, E-mail: byzhang2005@ 126.com) Abstract: Fourier transform attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy ( FT IR-ATR) combined with thermal analysis were applied to the component analysis of four different types of plastic bottles, and the distribution of the component was studied by the infrared image system. T he results showed that the main components of the bottles are polyethylene(HDPE) and a certain amount of polypropylene (PP) . T he results of the infrared image system are consistent with the experiment data of FT IR-ATR and thermal analysis. Infrared image system can detect trace impurities in a complex mixture, and provides a new powerful techniquefor the inspection of drug packaging.
