Instruments and equipment The has grindability tester (or HHS) : as shown in figure 1. The motor drives the main shaft and the grinding ring at the speed of (20 + 1) r/min by worm gear, worm and a pair of gear. The grinding ring drives 8 steel balls in the grinding bowl, and the diameter of the steel ball is 25.4mm. The total vertical force exerted on the steel ball by the weight block, gear, spindle and grinding ring is (284 + 2) N. The grinding bowl is the same as the grinding ring, and is treated with quenching. The geometry and size are shown in FIG. 2. The HHS instrument is calibrated using standard coal samples prior to the determination of the grindability index. Test sieve (GB/T6003) : aperture of 0.071 mm, 0.63 mm, 1.25 mm, diameter of 200mm, and equipped with screen cover and sieve chassis.
