[Abstract] Objective: to strengthen the training of nursing students specialized knowledge through the teaching ward rounds in Department of orthopedics, and to improve the overall quality and ability of nursing students. Methods: the form of overall nursing ward round was adopted. The whole process of ward round is guided by the instructor and the nursing student. The nursing procedure is used to analyze and discuss the cases of common diseases in Department of orthopedics. Results: the nursing students prepared carefully, spoke actively and discussed heatedly. All kinds of ward rounds have been approved by nursing students. By analyzing and discussing, we can apply specialized nursing knowledge in case study. Conclusion: the teaching ward round in Department of orthopedics stimulated the initiative and interest of nursing students, improved the knowledge level of nursing students and the ability of clinical analysis and treatment.
