Abstract: Based on ergonomics, a irtual appearance design was carried out for the shields of the
NC machine tool SSCK40. The w hole design process w as completed by such softw ares as
AUT OCAD, SolidWorks and PhotoShop for 2-D draw ing, 3-D modeling and the entire
appearance design of the NC machine tool, respecti ely. The irtual design process proposed is
pro ed a ailable to shorten the R D period of new products and decrease production cost, thus
enhancing the competiti eness of the NC machine tool on market .
