(Department of Neurology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing University, Chongqing ,400010, China) [Abstract] Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of four neuropsychological scales in early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Methods: Evaluate the cognitive function of 109 subjects(24 of AD group,40 of MCI group,45 of CN group)by memory and executive screening (MES),auditory verbal learning test-Huashan version(AVLT-H), Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE）and Montreal cognitive assessment scale (MoCA）. Compare and analyze scores of the four scales. Results For each scale ,there was significant difference between the scores of three groups.(P＜0.01); The scores of MMSE、MES and MoCA all significantly correlated with education level （P＜0.01）,while the scores of short-term delay recall and long-term delay recall of AVLT had no significant correlation with education level（P＞0.05）; Both the scores of MMSE and the scores of MoCA significantly correlated with delay recall.（P＜0.05）. Using a cut-off score of 80 to detect MCI, the sensitivity and specificity of MES was 95.6% and 75.0%, respectively. Conclusion MES is a simple and effective cognitive screening tool, and has high diagnostic value for MCI. Combination of MOCA or MMSE with AVLT could effectively diagnose AD in early stage.
