Seize the key link and promote the process of geography quality education
In Geography (Society) teaching, teaching quality should be implemented is rich in content, it involves many factors, both factors of the hardware, such as teaching equipment and school environment; also the software aspects, such as ideas, school management and so on; but the reality is the key subject teachers. As Comrade Deng Xiaoping said: a school can train qualified personnel for socialist construction, cultivate all-round development of morality, intelligence and body, socialist consciousness and culture of the workers, the key lies in the teachers. Only with high-quality geography teachers can the geography teaching be implemented in order to improve the overall quality of students.
However, the overall quality of the teachers in Geography (SOCIAL) is far from the requirement of quality education. Shangyu City as an example, the citys more than three consecutive years taught the subject (Geography) teachers for 23 people, only 30.6% of the total; from the academic point of view, the corresponding disciplines graduated from college for 14 people, accounted for only 18.6%, tertiary qualifications (the lowest for the primary school graduation) there are 21 people, accounting for the total the number of 28%. From the teaching situation, the citys 26 full-time teachers and part-time teachers, 49 people, accounting for 65.3% of the total, part-time teachers, or more than half of subjects and Geography (Society); and about 30% is the care of the frail elderly teachers in the teaching of Geography (society). Therefore, there is a big gap between the high requirement of geography and social quality education and the present situation of teachers. It has become the key to effectively implement quality education in Geography (SOCIAL) discipline.
