5C外语教学原则在大学外语课堂教学中应用摘 要： 1998年8月，中国高等学校外语专业教学指导委员会发布了《关于外语专业面向21世纪本科教育改革的若干意见》，明确指出了我国外语专业本科教育存在的问题并提出了改革的基本思路。它不但符合我国当前外语教学现状，而且与美国面向二十一世纪5C外语教学理念相吻合。因而如何结合这一原则开展好大学外语教学，培养出更多复合型高级外语人才具有划时代的战略意义。 关键词： 5C外语教学原则 大学外语 课堂教学 应用 一、美国《21世纪外语学习标准》 随着经济全球化和国际化进程的步伐日益加快，国际竞争在很大程度上依赖于对世界经济动态与信息的把握、与世界各国沟通与交流的能力、以及公民参与国际事务及国际经济活动的能力。而实现这些条件的主要前提就是外语教育的水平。面对国际化人才的需要和本国低质量的外语教育，美国政府意识到外语教育的重要性。在1996年，美国教育部出台了一部国家级课程标准《外语学习标准：为21世纪做准备》（Foreign Language Learning Standards：Preparing for the 21st Century），1999年又发表了《21世纪外语学习标准》（Standard for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century）。这一由美国教育部门及多个外语教学协会共同研制的国家外语课程标准内容如下： Standards for Foreign Language Learning Communication Standard 1.1：Students engage in conversations，provide and obtain information，express feelings and emotions，and exchange opinions. Standard 1.2：Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. Standard 1.3：Students present information，concepts，and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics. Cultures Standard 2.1：Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the culture studied. Standard 2.2：Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the products and perspectives of the culture studied. Connections Standard 3.1：Students reinforce and further their knowledge of other disciplines through the foreign language. Standard 3.2：Students acquire information and recognize the distinctive viewpoints that are only available through the foreign language and its cultures. Comparisons Standard 4.1：Students demonstrate understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of the language studied and their own. Standard 4.2：Students demonstrate understanding of the concept of culture through comparisons of the cultures studied and their own. Communities Standard 5.1：Students use the language both within and beyond the school setting
