關關於馬禮遜的語法論及其翻譯觀於馬禮遜的語法論及其翻譯觀 Robert Morrison’s grammar and his view of translation UCHIDA Keiichi Regarding Robert Morrison’s grammatical theory from his Grammar of the Chinese Language (1815), not only its specifi c contents and characteristics but also the Western people’s view of Chinese at that time, the process of systematization of Chinese grammar, the interference with the mother tongue (Western language=English), and the limitation due to such interference are discussed in this report. In addition, part of modern Western people’s view on China is explored by discussing the view on translation supporting them that has something in common with adaptationism, the attitude to thoroughly put oneself in someone’s shoes, like the missionary priests of the Society of Jesus and Robert Thom. 　　馬禮遜關於語法的著作有兩種，一種是《通用漢言之法》（1815），一種是《英國文語凡例傳》 （1823）。 　　本文將對初步討論這兩本書的內容與特徵及其馬禮遜的語法論的來源，並通過這兩本書討論馬禮遜的 翻譯觀。 11. . 《《Grammar of the Chinese Language 通用漢言之法》Grammar of the Chinese Language 通用漢言之法 》 　　本書1815年出版於Serampore，有1811年 4 月 2 日的序言（英文），共280頁。 　　本書是以為學習漢語的人提供方便為目的而撰寫的，分為四個部份 ，即Orthography（正字法或字論）， Etymology（形態論或詞類論）, Syntax（結構論）和Prosody（詩韻論）。 　　漢語書名的“通用漢言＂大概是如下面的馬禮遜對於漢語“官話＂的認識來命名的： 　　The pronunciation of the court, called in Europe the Mandarine Tongue （in Chinese 官話 Kwan hwa Public officer＇s dialect） and which is spoken by public officers and persons of education in every part of the Empire, is different from the dialect of each Province: the Provinces moreover differ amongst themselves.
