Flipped Classroom Workshop Agenda Friday, March 27th , 2015 (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) Hyatt House, Fishkill, NY 8:30 – 10:00 AM Introductions, Getting to Know the Flipped Classroom • Introductions and agenda review • Review of pre-workshop assigned content and reflective discussion forum posts • How I got started the influence of Sams and Bergmann • Introducing key considerations for the flipped classroom • Techniques to help ensure that students engage with flipped learning content 10:00 – 10:15 Break 10:15 – 10:30 Screencasting Tools Introduction • A number of free screencasting tools will be introduced and taken for a spin! 10:30 – 11:15 EXERCISE: Create a Screencast Critique and Improve it with a Partner 11:15 – 12:00 Review and Deeper Dive into Screencasting • Reviewing a few of the screencasts created, and reflections on our experiences • Techniques for good screencasts • Demonstration of Camtasia 12:00 – 1:15 BREAK FOR LUNCH (there are many restaurants nearby) 1:15 – 1:45 Screencasting Alternatives • We’ll examine various free tools for creating, ‘mashing up’, or otherwise delivering digital content to create new custom learning materials. 1:45 – 2:15 EXERCISE: Using one of the aforementioned tools, create an example of some flipped learning content 2:15 – 2:30 Review what we created, what we learned, and challenges to overcome 2:30 – 2:45 Break 2:45 - 3:15 Making the most of that valuable face-to-face class time 3:15 – 3:30 Overcoming Objections We’ll wrap up with resources for continuing your Flipped Teaching and Learning Journey
