The Knowledge and Exploitation of Mushrooms in the Tang Dynasty

Abstract :Chinese people began to know and make use of mushroomslong ago.Up to the Sui and Tang
Dynasties, they knew better about them both asfood andasherb.They also knew more clearly about the
poison some of them contained.The techniques of cultivating mushrooms appeared in the Sui and Tang
Dynasties.Especially treatiseswere written on glossy ganoderma cultivation.The Taoists promoted the
cultivationof glossy ganoderma.
