Employing pot experiment without fertilizer,we studied the seedling of eight species of grass grown on fly ash,peat soil mixed withfly ash,sandy soil mixed with fly ash,peat soil and sandy soil.The results showed that fly ash wasbenefit to the growth of grass seedlings, including Trif oliun repens , T . p ratense , olium perenne , Festuca arundinacea , and Dichondra rep ens . The seeds of lawn grass in the fly ash sprouted faster,with theseedling rate,seedling height,tillersbetter than thosein the others.But the leaveswerefeeble with light colour at later seedling stage.The seed ofAgrostis stolonif era inthe fly ash sprouted slowly with a low seedling rate,while the seedsof Zoysiaj ap onica andFestuca rubra could not sprout infly ash.
