Abstract: In order to discuss the dynam ic responsesof a straddle typemonorail transportation system,
a dynam ic model for a monorail vehicle w ith 15 DOFs ( degrees of freedom ) was established by
employing the linear tire model. The radial rigidities, side leaning effects and longitudinal slide
turning characteristics of running, steering and stabilizing tires are taken into account in thismodel.
Dynam ic responses of a PC ( prestressed concrete) rail beam in a typical section of the straddle type
monorail transportation system in Chongqing Citywere calculated by using a self compiled program and
comparedw ith field test results to show the correctness of the established dynam ic model and the self
compiled program.
