The microbubbles as genes or drug carriers can pass across the endothelial cell barrier and release genes and drug under the action of ultrasound field, which achieve target treatment effect. Based on the relevant materials, the bioeffects, early successes with gene and drug delivery, and potential clinical applications are reviewed.
