Research Advances of Introduction and Cultivation of Hongmu Tree Species in China

Abstract: Cultivating Hongmu resources is one of the major forestry development strategies of China． This
paper briefly introduced the classification of Hongmu and the source tree species specified in Chinas national
standard ，reviewed in detail Hongmu tree species originating from China and overseas species introduced and
cultivated ，and put the focus on the studies on propagation ，cultivation technique and physiological ecology
of Hongmu tree species in China． At last ，several suggestions on promoting cultivation and sustainable
development of Hongmu forest resources in China were contributed．
