[Abstract] Objective:To describe the status of quality of life in the postoperation
patients with laryngeal carcinoma,to expore the association of quality of life and
self-care with self-efficacy,discuss the mediating effects of self-efficacy on the

Methods: To select 76 patients with laryngeal carcinoma conformed by pathology
for surgery who came from the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery
Department of The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from Aug
2011 to Sep 2012., It received joint nursing intervention which included
improvement of self-efficacy and self-care ability on the basis of routine nursing
care.The patients were surveyed by General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),the
exercise of Self-care Agency(ESCA), the Chinese quality of life instrument for
cancer patients-head and neck cancer(QLICP-HN). Results: There were
statistically significant difference in the quality of life score among gender,age
groups,surgical approach, clinical stages,whether tube, radiotherapy and
chemotherapy(P0.01).The total self-care and each dimension had positive
correlation with quality of life(P0.01);the self-efficacy had positive correlation
with quality of life(P0.01).Self-efficacy had partial mediating effects on the
