At present, the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine has become the main treatment method, Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) plays an important role. On the basis of the China AP Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines (draft, 2004), the United States AP Clinical Guidelines(2007), the China Severe Acute Pancreatitis (SAP) Treatment Guidelines, the Digestive Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines of Chinese Medicine, the Practical Guidelines for Management of SAP by Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, as well as the Combination of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment on AP, according to the principle of evidence-based medicine, we retrieved the AP literatures and carded the related guidelines, fi nally gained the TCM AP preliminary solutions, including seven clinical problems as ‘the disease designation of TCM’, ‘causes and mechanism’, ‘different
