Abstract: Lu yao∀ s works of # life∃ has caused tremendous repercussions and controversy throughout
the society , in which the fateof the hero Gao Jialin becamethe focus of dispute. Many people think
that his failure stems from the betrayal of Huangtu Plateau. However, from another perspective,
though Gao Jialin failed, it is a kind of selftranscending, abreak beyond therural poverty and back
ward. We should not only concern the failureof the outcome, but it should be seen as a new break
through.
