The science and technology structural reform thinking tank of Jiangsu province, Nanjing 210098) Abstract：This paper uses the SEDEA model and the provincial panel data to calculate the agricultural efficiency of seven regions including 31 provinces from 2010 to 2014 in China，and then uses the Tobit model to analyze the factors which influence the regional agricultural efficiency. The research shows the following results：from 2010 to 2014, the agricultural efficiency of different regions in China kept relative stable in time sequence，but varied a lot among the cross section; overall，in the order of efficiency level, the areas ranging from high to low are Northeast, Eastern China, Southwest, South Central China, South China, Northern China, Northwest; in the influencing factors, the economic condition along with the industrial structure and the educational level has positive effects on agricultural efficiency, but the non-point source pollution has the opposite one. Therefore, in order to promote regional agricultural efficiency, the government needs to enhance the regional economic strength, improve the rural residents’ per capita income, and vigorously develop vocational education to strengthen the farmers’ employment ability. Also, the government needs to attach great importance to the negative impact on agricultural efficiency from non-point source pollution, and thus promote the safe, efficient, and green agricultural development.
