Analysis of the new English teachers construct professional identity formation and influencing factors
[Papers Keywords new school environment, teachers’ professional identity case study of English [Abstract] This study used case study method, by tracking an English Teachers College graduates to work in the first two years the whole process of trying to understand the new English teachers construct their professional identity development of teachers and the school environment changes in the construction of various factors on the specific effects of professional identity and role. The results show that: the new English teacher construction of professional identity has undergone a step change in the development process, including the school’s teacher-student relationship, the relationship between colleagues, work environment and teaching activities result of the interaction leading to changes in teachers’ professional identity construction of the external factors, and the new teacher’s self-reflection of internal factors.
In recent years, with further research, teacher professional identity has become an independent research topic, the definition of professional identity of teachers, researchers agree that both refer to a process, but also refers to a state. ‘Process’ is that teachers Professional identity is an individual from their own experience of self-evolved, to confirm their role in the process of teachers, ‘state’ is that teachers, teacher professional identity is present in the individual’s own level of acceptance of the teaching profession (Wei Shuhua, Hill was light, 2005.
