The new compound 6 was identified as amarantholidol A glycoside by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Keywords: Saussurea triangulata, quinic acid, phenolics, sesquiterpene glycosides. Introduction In a continuation of our study on biologically active compounds from Korean Compositae plants [1,2], the phytochemical constituents of the aerial parts of Saussurea triangulata were investigated. S. triangulata is widely distributed in Korea, and has been used in Korean folk medicine for the treatment of inflammation, hypertension and hepatitis [3].
