Pituitary Adenoma 垂体瘤 Tumour arising from the cells of the pituitary gland. Microadenoma (10 mm) Macroadenoma (10 mm) Pituitary adenomas are usually benign tumours, and pituitary carcinomas are very rare. Pituitary Adenoma垂体瘤 Coronal and sagittal thin slice T1-weighted images, without and with contrast enhancement. Microadenomas are usually iso-hypointense and are particularly well seen after gadolinium injection when the pituitary gland enhances homogeneously. The direction of growth of macroadenoma is well appreciated and involvement of chiasm and cavernous sinus may be detected. Acoustic neurinoma 听神经瘤 Plain film CT MRI Craniopharyngioma 颅咽管瘤 Craniopharyngiomas are typically found in the first two decades of life and usually have both solid and cystic components. Cyst content may have different appearances but usually appears as machine-oil and contains characteristic suspended cholesterol crystals. Calcifications are present in the vast majority of these tumours. Metastatic tumors 转移瘤 Sex: primary tumor. Lung cancer is the most common source of metastases in male patients, while breast cancer is the most common source in female patients. Age: primary systemic tumors.
