Zhuzhou Gof ront qupiment M ould Co., Ltd., Zhuzhou 412001, Ch ina) A b stract: In view of the sudden breakage in the leveling process after assemblywelding of the iron plates on the No. 18Movable- PointR ightHandTurnouts of250km /h passenger dedicated railway line, the paper analyzes the forced state, macro-fractography, chemical composition, mechanicalproperties andm icrostructure of each assembly welded parts related in the process of leveling. The results show that: because of the notch at iron plates parts caused by assembly welding, which is placed atweldmetal and heat affected zone and readily to produce stress concentration, the partswould be broken easily by the stress concentration during leveling. Suggestions after a comprehensive analysis are that: mi proved production process of iron plates andwelding structure are necessary in order to avoid the brakeage during leveling.
