Presentation
介词 + which / whom 引起的定语从句
介词 + which / whom 引起的定语从句, 介词一般由定语从句的动词而定,能构成词组;介词与先行词有介宾关系。
e.g. 1. He is the boy whom / who / that we are talking about 把about提前,则得到:
He is the boy about whom we are talking (talk about).
2.The pen which / that I wrote the article with is gone. 把 with提前,则得到:
The pen with which I wrote the article.(write sth. with sth.)
注:1. 有时在介词前面可以用数词或代词,表示数量,构成:数词 / 代词 + 介词 + which / whom 引起的定语从句:
e.g. one / some / none / both / all / each of whom/which…
1.I have some books, one of which is in English.
2.She has many friends, all of whom are in the same class.
c.f. She has many friends. All of them are in the same class.
2. whose + n. = the + n. + of whom / which = of whom / which the + n.
3. 短语动词中的介词不能提前
e.g. 1.This is the book that / which Im looking for. 注:look for是短语动词
2.There are many patients that the nurses look after. look after也是短语动词
关系副词when、 where、 why等引导定语从句
关系副词when, why, where在定语从句中不能充当主语,宾语或表语,而只能充当状语。当定语从句修饰一个表示时间的名词时,一般用关系副词when,在定语从句中充当时间状语;当定语从句修饰一个表示地点的名词时,一般用关系副词where,在定语从句中充当地点状语;当定语从句修饰表示原因的名词时,一般用关系副词why,在定语从句中充当原因状语。关系副词在句中一般不能省略。
e.g. 1. I still remember the day when I first came to Beijing.
2. The factory where his father works in the west of the city.
3. That is the reason why you are always late for school.
用关系副词when, where, why填空:
1. Do you still remember the place _______ you were born?
2. I dont remember the date ____ my father were born.
3. Do you know the reason ____ he killed himself?
4. He was born in the year ____ the Second World War broke out.
5. Kunming is a beautiful city _____ flowers are seen all the year round.
6. Please tell me the reason ________ he is angry.
注:1、有时尽管先行词是
