Teaching aims
To learn the new words and new sentences about spring Festival in China.
Teaching points
New words. Sentence patterns.
Teaching materials
Flash cards, tape and recorder.
Student’s cards, classroom to be decorated as spring festival
Teaching procedure
I. warm-up
1. Daily oral practice
T: How are you?
Ss: Fine, thank you!
Review the words.
Guessing game: hide a present behind and let the students guess what it is and then give it to the students
T: Here is a present for you! (Christmas tree, card, stocking, present)
S: Thank you.
II. Presentation
Step1. A
1. Present the traditional Chinese festival and the words related to Chinese Spring Festival. Using pictures and objects.
2. Practice: students point the object and say the name of it.
3. Presenting the greetings on Spring Festival by drawing a simple picture!
T:Happy spring Festival!
S:The same to you! (You too!)
4. Create a real situation for students to practice the expression.
Step 2. B
1. T Demonstrate and say the chant as posting the paper cutting on the window.
2. Learn and do: teacher the student to do the paper cutting.
3. Collect the works and show them in the groups.
4. Presents offering:
Students work in groups and send each other the gift have made, using the dialogue bellow:
Sa: Happy Spring Festival!
Sb: The same to you!
Sa: Here is a paper-cut for you!
Sb: Thank you.
5. Homework:
Design a paper-cut and give it to your family as a Spring Festival gift. Using the dialogue learned in the lesson. Teaching characteristics:
