The 2nd Peop les Hosp ital of X iaoshan, Hangzhou 31124 1, Zhej iang , hina ABSTRACT Objective:To explore t e t erapeutic effects of surgical treatment for tibial plateau frac ture.Methods:From June 2000 to August 2004, 26 patients w it tibial plateau fractures w ere treated wit op eration.Among t em, 16 patients were male and 10 were female, w it ages from 23 to 61 years, averagely 423 years.According to Sc atzkers classification, t e fracture w ere diagnosed as T ype ∃ in 3, Type % in 7, T ype in 8, Type ∋ in 4, Type ( in 3, Type ) in 1.Approac es w ere selected based on t e classification and t e site of large fragment and depressed point of articular surface.Ts ape, Ls ape or ockey stick s ape supporting plate were used to be internal fixation. If t ere were bone defects after reduction, iliac or art ificial bone grafting w ere performed.T e effects of external fixation after operat ion and exercise time of knees flex ure and extending on t e function recovery of knee joint were analysed. Results:All t e patients w ere follow ed up from 6 mont s to 4 years, wit an average of (223 ∗ 165) mont s. All fractures were united wit in 12 w eeks after operation.According to Rasmussens 30point knee rating system, 7 pat ients obtained excellent re sults, 16 good, 2 fair and 1 poor. T e excellentandgood rate was 885% .Among 22 patients w o do exercises from 2 weeks after operation, 20 recovered to normal.Wit in 4 patients w o do exercises from 6 w eeks after operation, 1 ad activity limitati
