This paper, through sampling investigation divides the primitive forest on the limestone into three main forest types;tropi al seasonal rain forest, tropi al seasonal moist forest and tropi al mantane dw arf forest, within these, six formations, in ludin ten ommunities, are des ribed in detail. The tropi al seasonal rain forest, w hi h is a type of tropi al rain forest, o urs mainly in the w ettest valley s and shady slops.It has three tree layers, of w hi h, the top layer is main- ly emergent trees more than 30 m high.The forest an be subdivided into tw o formations; w et seasonal rain forest and dry seasonal rain forest a ording to the habitat and numbers of de iduos trees.The w et seasonal rain forest is floristi ally hari terised by Pometia tomen- tosa and ontains fewer than 10 per ent de iduos trees in the number of tr
