Vale, Brazil; 2. Vale, China) Abstract In recent years, smog issue attracts more and more attention in China. A lot of studies aim to find the reason to cause smog. Steel and iron industry is considered as one of the reasons. How to reduce emission in steel and iron industry becomes an urgent problem to be solved. In China, steel and iron industry normally includes sintering, pelletizing, coking, ironmaking, steelmaking, refining, continues casting and rolling process. Sintering is one of the main processes to cause emission. In this paper, emission in sintering process is researched. In addition, green ore solution is studied and discussed to save energy and reduce emission. According to the numerical simulation result, high grade ore like Brazilian ore IOCJ is helpful to reduce fuel consumption and PM emission during sintering.
