Analysis on t he trends of groundwater level changes in t he allusive plain of Taihang Mountain piedmount region suggested t hat : ①t he droppingdown of groundwater level was mainly caused by water use in wheat growing season ,which is t he dry season of t he year . ②The amount of precipitation in wheat growing season ,corn growing season and t he whole year are strongly correlated wit h t he droppingdown of groundwater level in t he corresponding p eriod . Statistic analysis indicated t hat when precipitation increased by 100mm in wheat growing season ,corn growing season and t he whole year ,t he drop pingdown of groundwater level decreased by 0 . 365m ,0 . 436m and 0 . 56m resp ectively . The difference in different levels of droppingdown during different p eriods was possibly resulted from t he difference in recharge of groundwater in different seasons and t he effectiveness of rainfall for t he crop s. ③The analysis also im
