T he results show ed that there w as an obvious decline tr end of runoff eneration index w ith increasin of covera e of forest . Output of most runoff w as kept and distribution of runoff in dry season and flood season turned to uniform w ith more for est in w atershed. Influenced by var-i ation of rainfall, interannual variation of runoff in mountain w atersheds w ith more forest w as r eater than that w ith less forest .
