This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract This paper briefly introduces the characteristics of the wireless sensor network, the principle and characteristics of the basic ant colony algorithm, and summarizes the application of ant colony al- gorithm in the traveling salesman problem. Then, it focuses on how to improve the ant colony al- gorithm and apply it to the wireless sensor network, and points out the comparative performance of the WSNs routing protocol based on the improved ant colony algorithm.
