What are the character flaws presented in Willy? 1.Make others happy before making himself happy. All that Willy ever wanted in life was to be “well-liked” and for his sons to follow in his footsteps. His lives focused too much on fulfilling others rather than themselves。 2.Willy is blind to the reality around him. Willy is a dreamer who is unable to face the realities of a modern day society. 3.Willy builds his whole life around the philosophy that if a person is well liked and good looking, he will be successful. 4.His need to be well liked is so strong that his choices throughout his life, and his blindness to the reality around him, prevents Willy from realizing his dreams and values were flawed. Because of his unwillingness to change, Willy dies at the hands of his own tragic flaw.? Advancements in science throughout that century have led to tremendous advancements in industry. Advancements in industry, however, have not always led to advancements in living. For some, society has created mass wealth. For most mass society has created a standard of living unparalleled throughout history. For Willy Loman, however, mass society has created only tremendous grief and hardship, aggravated by the endless promise. For these reasons, his tragedy is due more to societies flaws than to the flaws in his own character. What probably leads to the tragic life of Willy Loman? Death of A Salesman The woods/jungle and diamonds The garden Moon, stars metaphors Metaphors The Jungle: The jungle, or woods and diamonds, represents the chaotic yet rewarding nature of life. In many ways, the jungle also represents the twentieth century free market economy (and the American Dream ideal) that Miller often criticized.?
