Step 1wasto select a culture for optimal fungigrowth while the availability of heavy metals in the media wasnot affected. Three cultures of standing liquid culture, liquid agitation and agar media cultureswere compared by studying the effect of Cd on the growth of Suillus granulatus . Standing liquidmediawas selectedfor the second step, andtheeffectsof Cd, Zn and Pb on thegrowth of Suillus granulatus andPax illus inv olutus were investigated. The tolerance of Suillus granulatus and Pax illus involutus to Zn, Cd, and Pb was compared using fungi biomass and EC asthe indexes. Comparedto Suillus granulatus , Cd EC of Pax illus inv olutus was lower, while Zn 50 50 and Pb EC werehigher. Theseresu
