Teaching objectives: To learn the way of developing a piece of narrative writing; To learn the important words, expressions and paragraphing of difficult sentences; To learn some rhetoric devices in the text II. Teaching procedure about the style of the text: It’s a piece of narration. Simply defined, narration is the telling of a story. A good story has a beginning, a middle and an end. It’s concerned with action and revolves around people called characters. The leading character is called hero or protagonist. As the conflict develops, suspense and tension increase until the highest point or the climax of the struggle is reached. After the climax, the story moves to a conclusion-denouncement. B. Theme of the text: . Koshaks and their friends struggle against the forces of a devastating hurricane.C. C. Detailed study of the Text: introduction: it’s a piece of narration. It describes the heroic struggle of the Koshaks and their friends against forces of devastating hurricane. The story focuses mainly on action but the writer also clearly and sympathetically declines the characters in the story,. The hero or the protagonist in the story is John Koshak, and the antagonist is the hurricane.
