Introduction to Ted Hughes Ted Hughes(1930-1998) :one of the important English poets in the 20th century dominant poet in 1960s “The Tribe of Ted” Poet Laureate in 1985 married Sylvia Plath(1932-1963) in 1956 two children; their separation suicide of Plath in 1963 II. Introduction to Hughes’ Poetry Innovator with his own poetic voice and poetic technique of animal symbolism keen observation of the world of creatures strong feelings and urgent ,brilliant images a view of man as being both opposed by the primitive forces of nature and also as containing those same forces within himself.
