Abstract: Objective: To determine the polysaccharide contents of Fomes offi cinalis Ames from different regions and
provide the scientifi c basis for its application. Methods: The polysaccharide contents were determined by phenol-sulfuric acid
method and selected glucose as standard substance. Results: There was a certain difference on the Fomes polysaccharide contents
from different regions. The content of polysaccharide from Yili was higher than other samples. Conclusion: The environment of
different regions have some infl uence on the accumulation of Fomes polysaccharide. The phenol-sulfuric acid method can be used
to determine the polysaccharide content of Fomes offi cinali Ames.
