2.Let the Ss know how to use the following:

3. Let the Ss do some practice about “rather…than” and partial inversion.

Step 1. Pre-reading.
Ask one S to read the pre-reading part before the next and translate it. Then ask the Ss to answer the Qs below this part.
Step 2. Information giving
Give the Ss some info about 1) the English Chunnel; 2) the long-lasting Anglo-French Conflict; 3) the Channel Tunnel Project
