Yes: STEM and Social Sciences No: Education and Professional Programs Typical arrangements Picked up from airport by staff/current graduate student(s) or shuttle Stay with current graduate student(s), campus dorm, or “affordable” hotel Program sets budget or makes arrangements Reimbursement is typical Typical Agenda Thursday 6:00 PM - Meet for dinner with students, staff and faculty - an informal time for you to relax, eat some good food, and ask a few questions with a small number of faculty and students. Friday (Day) 8:30 AM - Continental Breakfast at the school 9:00 - 10:30 - Welcome by Program Director, generally some overview of the academic program 10:40 - 12:00 - 2 interviews (30 minutes each) with individual faculty or faculty panel 12:00 - 1:00 - Lunch with faculty and students 1:05 - 2:15 - 2 - 3 interviews (30 minutes each) with individual faculty or faculty panel 3:00 - Information session about program, research, funding, etc. 3:45 - 4:15 - Panel discussion with current graduate students 4:15 - 5:30 - Campus/department/laboratory/housing tour Typical Agenda Friday (Evening) 6:45 - Meet for dinner with faculty, program staff, current graduate students 8:00 till ? (Optional) Cocktails, dessert, fun, etc with current graduate students at Favorite Local Bar Saturday (Optional) 8:30 AM - Breakfast and additional welcome by School Administration 10:00 – Noon - Sometimes there is a “fun” activity scheduled
