It can be defined as the degree to which employees experience a sense of oneness with their organization. Bateman and Strasser (1984) “multidimensional in nature, involving an employee’s loyalty to the organization, willingness to exert effort on behalf of the organization, degree of goal and value congruency with the organization, and desire to maintain membership”Buchanan (1974) “ a bond between an individual (the employee) and the organization (the employer) ”Distinction between Organisational and Work Commitment Work/employment commitment refers to the importance attached at work per seIf you won the lottery would you continue to work?
