School of Electrical Engineering, Yanshan University Email: 1.glyin@ , 2. 745061087@, 3.1252299370@ Abstract: This paper outlines the basic representation of reachability analysis theory and its application situa- tion in power systems, highlights the strengths and weaknesses of zonotope for the reachable set, summarizes the reachable set calculation principle for linear systems and nonlinear systems, and gives an overview about the application of reachability analysis in forecasting power system voltage instability, power system transient stability analysis, complex distribution network partitions, power flow analysis, calculating power system sta- bility domain, checking wind turbines ride-through capability and so on , finally, the paper points out the fu- ture research direction.
