Green is an important means of beautifying the city. Green not only Improves our living environment, but also brings us fresh air. Green can also adjust to climate and reduce noise. Green benefits us a lot. It creates a harmonious and comfortable living environment. Japan has well-developed green industry. We call Japan “The Green Kingdom”. There are lots of green projects in Japan, such as planting roof, city park. Japan attaches considerable importance to the green space maintenance and improvement. In Japan, cities’ green master plans open to the public, every people can download the plan. From the plan we can learn green building development status, improvements and the expected goals. Shanghai has been committed to green building for a long time, and we have made great achievements. Per capita public green land has changed from a piece paper to a room. However there are still a lot of problems in our green building, such as the uneven distribution of green space, plant green grass more than planting trees, etc. At the end of 2001, Shanghai promulgated the Shanghai Urban Green Space System Planning (2002-2020) . The plan analyzes of the development status of green and the main issues. It also set a clear direction for future development of Shanghai Green.
