Confirmatory experiment of the law of conservation of angular momentum. In the experimental class,the teacher demonstrate the experiment of the helicopter propeller to verify the law of conservation of angular momentum.There are some extra methods we can add to the experiment to make the result more clear. The formor experiment shows us that for the object which consists of tow parts,when it is still,the total angular momentum is zero. As part of the internal interaction make one part turn up , in accordance with the law of conservation of angular momentum, then the other part will turn to the opposite direction, the size of the two angular momentum are equal and the sum remains zero. Therefore, when the helicopters main propeller rotates, the body will rotate to the opposite direction to maintain the conservation of angular momentum. In order to avoid rotating body, usually the tail of the helicopters propeller produces an auxiliary force whose torque to the fuselage will offset he reaction torque produced by the main propeller. But there is another kind of helicopter called the rotor coaxial helicopter,it has two identical rotors which installed on the same shaft and the two rotors rotate in the opposite direction so the torpues offset each other,and there is no need to re-install the tail propeller but the angular momentum still remains zero. So we can use three propellers to demonstrate the new experiment,two main propellers and one tail propeller.Firstly only install one main propeller on the top,we will see the body rotating in the opposite direction,if add the tail propeller,the helicopter will keep its balance and stop rotating,also we can use the other main propellers which has the opposite direction of rotation instead of the tail propeller and we can get the same effect. That is my personal suggestion to improve the experiment.And all the phenomena in the new experiment follow the law of conservation of angular momentum.
