摘 要
科场迷信，是指人们将科举考试与自然现象或奇异事件附会起来，把科举
考试成败的客观结果归结于天命、鬼神等迷信力量，或希望通过迷信手段对科
举考试进行干预。明代科场迷信大致有以下几类：梦徵类、文明之兆类、定命
类、神鬼类、堪舆类、谶语类和阴功类。
明代科场迷信自科举考试制度正式确立以来就已经存在。其泛滥却始于明
代中期。科场迷信故事所关注的焦点人物是在竞争激烈的科举考试中脱颖而出
的成功之人。与之相应的是，明代选官途径自中叶之后演变为专用科举的一元
化局面。
明人独重科举之风的盛行，使科场竞争日趋激烈，科举流通机制渐趋壅滞，
并导致科场舞弊事件的大量泛生。这使得科举考试的不确定性大大增加，士子
只能将科举考试的成败归因于“天命”、“鬼神”等迷信力量，借此寻求心理慰
藉，并试图借迷信手段左右或影响科举考试结果。由此导致明人科举应试心态
及行为的变异。
