SLIP is a predecessor of PPP. (2)PPP – PPP provides router-to-router and host-to-network connections over synchronous and asynchronous circuits. These can be either dia up or eased ines. SLIP is essentia y imited to use with IP. However, PPP can be used for other network- ayer protoco s such as IPX and App eTa k. PPP can a so support the fo owing essentia features: Dynamic address a ocation PAP authentication CHAP authentication Mu ti ink PPP SLIP does not support these features.
