With the exception of the menu and tool buttons loaded, mesh refinement and mesh seeding actually uses a variant of the “post3” interface. Major points of interest are indicated. Remember that tool button functions can be indicated in the status bar at the bottom of the window by pressing and holding the button for which information is desired. Merely move the cursor off of the button while it is still depressed to release without selecting. As with the Modeler (Draw), the Material Manager, and Boundary manager, the keyboard CTRL-drag, SHIFT-drag, and CTRL-SHIFT-drag shortcuts for rotate, pan, and zoom (respectively) all function here as well, making view manipulation a snap. * Plotting the mesh doesn’t provide any direct data about the solution itself, but it does allow you to see where the mesh concentration was increased by the adaptive process (and/or by your own seeding and refinement steps) to help you determine if the code ‘saw’ the behavior you were trying to model. In some cases, it can also show you locations where your input data was faulty. For example, if the model geometry was input from a .dxf file, two vertices which were extremely close together could result in a non-uniform mesh density in a location where you would not expect it to be necessary from a field standpoint. Seeing the mesh might therefore help you determine whether or not you wish to accept the data already existent, or perhaps go back and modify the model to remove the offending vertices and obtain a higher quality mesh.
