What did I learn from this experience? On the last day of class, Mai asked us to each say one thing that we learned from the course. Unfortunately my head was on a different beach at the moment, and when it was my turn to speak, I gave a half ass answer about how I want to spend more time outside or something. Basically just something that I already knew, rephrased so that it sounded like I had learned it recently. I dont think I fooled many people. It was actually really unfortunate that it happened like that. This was my one chance to express to my new family how much they had affected me, the significant impact that they had had on my life. Hopefully some of them will read this. Here is what I wish I had said: Thank you all so much for this incredible experience. I hope you all understand how unique this is. While we are sure to have many more awesome adventures in the future, its unlikely that most of us will be able to take a class of this nature again. Its too out there, too abnormal. This isnt what a university education is supposed to teach. This isnt what the system allows. But it should be! Look at how healthy we all are! Look at how our minds bodies and souls have changed! This is what humans are meant to do. This is perfect education. We are finally integrating our beings with the environment we evolved in. I would even argue that this class is the epitome of human achievement. What is more important than natural, experiential learning about the world that we live in? This is our existence. We all now truly understand how backwards the humanized world we grew up in is. That is not natural. Its artificial living. And now we have to go back. Back to wake everyone up. We owe the earth that created us. We have to help set things straight. It seems to me that the only way to help people realize their place in the system is to give them experiences like this one. Nature immersion is crucial for the future of humanity. I want to share this with everyone. I want
