以物觀物：臺灣、東亞與世界的互文脈絡 國際學術研討會 徵稿啟事 主辦單位：國立中山大學人文研究中心、文學院 會議時間：103年10月17-18日 摘要截止時間：103年3月15日 投稿信箱：chsc705@mail.nsysu.edu.tw 人類文明的歷史有精神與物質兩大範疇；兩者相互影響，在各民族、各時代產生不同的生活樣貌。而正由於如此，人們的文化記憶乃可深烙於物質之中。 一地的物質，自有其本土生成的風物，也有源於外來異文化的傳播。這些「物」既具有其獨特的社會生命週期文化敘事空間物與物之間，環環相扣成「互文」，編織成一網。各個時期或殖民，或移民，可說是經過了多元的墾殖洗禮，也創造了流動視域下的物質。  Envisioning “Things”: An International Conference on Material Culture Center for the Humanities at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan 17-18 October, 2014 The past decade witnessed a rising interest in material culture. The study of physical evidence and “things” has offer a valuable empirical vision, mediating past and present social and cultural interactions. It draws on theory and practice from the social sciences, including art history, archeology, anthropology, folklore, and museum studies, among others, and it is also common to utilize analytical methodologies to gain ethnographic insights. The study, however, does not limit itself to the social sciences, but rather opens itself up to a wide range of disciplines in the humanities, such as linguistics, history, literature, aesthetics, philosophy, and cultural studies, to name only the most prominent. Material culture study is an interdisciplinary field that explores the relationships between people and things, and interpreting materials by considering themes such as ruin, imprints, waste, images, relics, antiques, food, landscape and memory—all these serve as a key to knowing about cultures throughout history. Material culture has also revolutionized traditional approaches, such as culturalism, structuralism and traditional Marxism. By studying objects, for instance, we recognize the shift to materiality and physicality in contemporary scholarship. The elusive quality of the material has also been (re)viewed from feminist perspectives and formulated a study engendered by gendered things. In additional to physical objects, we pay rigorous attention to physical resources and spaces such as homes and lands
