Some people think that Weiguo’s behavior is very similar to the situation that somebody picks up a wallet in the street; he takes the money from the wallet, and don’t return it to the owner, or hand in to the police. Cara, I wonder whether it is illegal in the latter situation in Korea. Cara Jeong: It’s not certainly an offense. Frankly, I have an experience like that in Korea. One day, I found a wallet at a bus station,but there were just some money, and wasn’t anything I could identify, so I was agonizing in the moment, and I went to the nearest police office from the bus station in the end. But the police man looked a little embarrassed for a moment. Stephen Xu: why he was embarrassed? Cara Jeong: Maybe for the same reason, there wasn’t identification Stephen Xu: Then what did the policeman tell you to do? Cara Jeong: He said in this case, legally, a finder can take a found article if a owner don’t show up for two years. So all of the money became of mine Stephen Xu: Really? I think that you even don’t need to go to the police office. Cara Jeong: But if I didn’t like that, probably I will be distressed by using the money, because, anyway it is also something wrong Stephen Xu: What is the punishment if the person don’t hand in to the police? Cara Jeong: Well, but most of cases in this situation, the person who didn’t find owner hardly ever be arrest. Stephen Xu: Oh, I see.
