Open Shop Workers are not required to join or pay dues to a union. Union Shop Workers who must join the union after a specified period of time and pay union dues at that time. Maintenance-of-membership Shop Workers remain members of the union for the period of the labour contract. Agency Shop Employee does not have to join the union but must pay union dues.
