In this novel, the huge and strong whale Moby Dick represent the strong nature force. The captain of whaleship Ahab represents the desire of human beings. In the beginning, Captain Ahab lost a leg in a previous encounter with Moby Dick. But he didn’t give up chasing the whale he wanted to vanquish the whale and ravage. So he destroyed the whale Moby dick finally. But he also can not survive. I think the writer want to tell us is we can only survive by obey the rules of nature. [Key words]:vanquish, obey, nature and human beings 摘要 作者在小说中提出了： 我们应该征服还是顺应自然的问题。在这部小说中，强大的白鲸代表了自然的力量。而Ahab船长则代表了人类强大的征服欲望。最开始，船长在与白鲸Moby Dick的第一次相遇中失去了他的一条腿。但是他没有放弃去征服白鲸去复仇。所以他一直追寻这头白鲸。在故事的最后，船长成功的杀死了白鲸，但是他自己也未能幸免，与白鲸同归于尽。我认为组着想要告诉我们的就是：我们只有顺应自热的法则才能生存下去。 关键词：征服，服从，人与自然 1. Introduction In Moby-Dick, Herman Melville told us his own ideas about conflict between human and natural in a romantic way. I think he want to tell us the result of human against nature.
