Bios of Drs. David Criswell, Barbara Haas and Yong “Tai” Wang College of Nursing and Health Sciences The University of Texas at Tyler Dr. Barbara Haas, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and International Programs in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at The University of Texas at Tyler, received her PhD in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. With a clinical background in oncology, Dr. Haas’s research program focuses on health promotion for persons with chronic illness. She is specifically interested in the effect of exercise on quality of life for persons with cancer. Her current funded research project is a randomized controlled trial examining the impact of exercising the day chemotherapy is administered on health outcomes. She also has a pilot project in process that examines the impact of targeted exercise on chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy. She currently holds the David G. Braithwaite Professorship in Nursing and serves as Research Director for the not-for-profit organization, The Cancer Foundation for Life.
